Independent Midwives are fully qualified midwives who, in order to practice the midwife's role
to its fullest extent, have chosen to work outside the NHS in a self employed capacity. The
midwife's role encompasses the care of women during pregnancy, birth and afterwards.
Independent Midwives are especially keen to assist women in making informed decisions about
their overall birth experience.
Obviously there are certain situations that are out of a midwives jurisdiction
and therefore a home birth will not be suitable. In these cases you will be
referred to the hospital.

- Post Mature (Induction)
